Dear Partners, Members, Volunteers and Colleagues,

We have an enormous responsibility and we must never forget that, the ability of people in Africa to build their economies, to educate their children, to build hospitals, to reduce poverty and improve their quality of life, to run their businesses, all depends on energy. In addition Renewable energy and energy efficiency services can play a variety of direct and indirect roles in helping to achieve the ODDs.

In January 2009, we founded ARPEDAC. ARPEDAC plays a key role in promoting energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and developing a partnership between community, academic institutions, government and industry in the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).

Membership of the Association is made up by anyone who will wish to support the aims and mission of the group including, professionals, students, volunteers and institutions that focus their effort to advance sustainable energy practice in the Central Africa countries.

In this early stage, the association is looking to increase its membership and volunteers/internships so that it has a broader knowledge, experiences and resources base. Becoming a member or volunteer/internship for us will bring you into a large network of experts in the field from all across the world and the continent, and provide a forum through which ideas and experience can be exchanged.

We would like to invite you to join ARPEDAC and we believe that your contribution will be valuable asset to the success and development of the Association. Thank you for downloading your application pack and for choosing to be our member or to volunteer/internship with ARPEDAC.

We also believe that partnerships in and themselves have enormous value to the community sector and that they solve problem that the single organisation cannot resolve by them-selves. However, they are also an important component of many other public policy on issues, such as economic development, environment, social and education. Therefore APEDAC is looking forward to working in partnership with researchers, academe, industry, local governments, NGOs and to engaging in research, focus groups, local strategic partnership, regional strategic partnership, and international strategic partnership and also to take an active role in representing the Central African sub-region on the issued related to energy efficiency and renewable energy development.

Thank you for supporting ARPEDAC! Together, as a team, we can work towards achieving ARPEDAC’s aims and goals, and help others in Central Africa to achieve positive change in their own lives and evict them from energy poverty.

I hope that your give thoughtful considerations to joining the ARPEDAC as a member or to take part its volunteer/ internship program and that the experience with us will be meaningful and enjoyable.

Mempouo Blaise
President of ARPEDAC

  • Our Work…

At ARPEDAC we are dedicated to supporting Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) business owners to enter new markets and grow their business in the eleven (11) countries of the Central Africa Region.

ARPEDAC endeavours to achieve the right regulatory framework for RE and EE to deliver an increasing contribution to the Central Africa region's energy mixte including energy efficiency needs and renewable electricity, heating, cooling, and sustainable agriculture, buildings, cities, villages, and transports needs. We want to realise the potential of the RE and EE industry, allow this sector to deliver energy security and sustainable economic growth of the region – while also combating fuel poverty and climate change.

ARPEDAC is also playing the leading roles in consolidating practical partnership between businesses /stakeholders including civil societies, academes, governments and industries to bring about sustainable future in the Central Africa region.

  • What We Do

    Research/Technical Assistance and Consultancy

Instead of seeing research in the academic terms, where the key output would be a book or a paper, ARPEDAC perceives research as an opportunity, which the success enables initiatives that makes a real difference to people’s lives. Research also helps our advocacy work.

In the view to provide appropriate advice, support and technical assistance to reduce energy poverty and to effectively help remove the barriers currently faced by RE and EE industry. ARPEDAC undertakes research in collaboration with businesses /stakeholders to support our claims, and contribute supporting policies and strategies development. Research also enables ARPEDAC to think ahead and to indentify issues of concern to stakeholders including businesses and poor communities in the Central Africa region.
