* Mission / Vision

Our mission is to advance  Sustainable Energy Technologies  (SET) practice and development in the Central African Region by helping to remove barriers currently faced by the industry and to achieve a green economy and sustainable development including poverty eradication.

Our vision is to be the leader and the driving force behind the renewable energy and energy efficiency revolution in the Central Africa Region by playing the leading roles in consolidating practical partnership between stakeholders including academics, governments and industries and through “Pragmatic advocacy”to achieve SET for all by 2030.

*As far as the “pragmatic advocacy” is concern:

ARPEDAC vision is to do a “Pragmatic advocacy” rather that abstract activities base around talking, laying claims and calling government to account for. ARPEDAC believes that the most effective approach of advocacy is when dialogues take place in parallel with practical demonstration of SETs and green services. This approach enhances the capacity and awareness of stakeholders and stimulates businesses. It demonstrates to stakeholders including communities’ leaders, policy makers and local entrepreneurs etc. the practical solutions to achieve positive change and to deliver energy security and sustainable economic growth of the region – while also combating fuel poverty and climate change etc.

The “pragmatic advocacy” approach involves:

Inspiring – inspiring the desire to change, to innovate, to research and to develop by practical sustainable example/solutions to businesses energy needs.

Informing –feeding the desire to change by providing stakeholders such as communities’ leaders, policy makers the most appropriate information to make available appropriate policies and strategies for renewable energy and energy efficiency

Enabling – working with regional leaders including ECCAS and countries governments to provide incentives,  effective capacity building, and the right regulatory framework, and continue supporting to put the change into practice.

  • Our Work…

    At ARPEDAC we are dedicated to supporting Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) business owners to enter new markets and grow their business in the eleven (11) countries of the Central Africa Region.

    ARPEDAC endeavours to achieve the right regulatory framework for RE and EE to deliver an increasing contribution to the Central Africa region's energy mixte including energy efficiency needs and renewable electricity, heating, cooling, and sustainable agriculture, buildings, cities, villages, and transports needs. We want to realise the potential of the RE and EE industry, allow this sector to deliver energy security and sustainable economic growth of the region – while also combating fuel poverty and climate change.

    ARPEDAC is also playing the leading roles in consolidating practical partnership between businesses /stakeholders including civil societies, academes, governments and industries to bring about sustainable future in the Central Africa region.

  • What We Do

    Research/Technical Assistance and Consultancy

    Instead of seeing research in the academic terms, where the key output would be a book or a paper, ARPEDAC perceives research as an opportunity, which the success enables initiatives that makes a real difference to people’s lives. Research also helps our advocacy work.

    In the view to provide appropriate advice, support and technical assistance to reduce energy poverty and to effectively help remove the barriers currently faced by RE and EE industry. ARPEDAC undertakes research in collaboration with businesses /stakeholders to support our claims, and contribute supporting policies and strategies development. Research also enables ARPEDAC to think ahead and to indentify issues of concern to stakeholders including businesses and poor communities in the Central Africa region.
